This document provides critical operational guidance for Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) providers within community and correctional settings to ensure seamless coordination of care for incarcerated patients on Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). This protocol is designed to prevent dangerous disruptions in medication and treatment during transitions into and out of correctional facilities. This is the finalized version of the document first created in 2024 by the Association for Behavioral Healthcare (ABH) Sub-committee of the larger ABH OTP Committee.
